duckling palace mind map

This week, my group and I began reading Duckling Palace. The story is about ducklings. When ducklings first hatch, they can eat on their own. Did you know that if you see a mother duckling and her kids, it is spring.   Ducks can fully fly when they are sixty-six days old.  For my choose 2, I did my own diesign. I picked the second-to-last which is number six ?I thought of five ideas. I thought of feeding the ducklings, and you should not touch the ducklings so much. Make sure you love them, don’t bring big bowls, or they will try to get in it and keep them warm. It is very important.

A quilt for kiri

This week, my group and I were reading a quilt for Kiri. When we were finished reading the book, we had to do our must-dos and choose two. For the choose two I did my own design of the tiveavae. And here is my design of the tivaevea.

Treasure from the sea

This week, my reading group and i were reading Treasure from the Sea. Our teacher made slides for us, I did a mini video, I was a seagull. But the seagull wanted to eat the fish i just did the seagull flying. Nan had lots of treasures, like shells in a jar, a key, and a big shell her grandkid picked one of the treasure. And the nan would tell a story about them, so her goal was to find a treasure and tell a story about them one day. Then the next day, when she was gonna go back home, she found the fish that the seagull was trying to eat.

Netiquette

Netiquette is all about being safe on the internet. We have been learning about Netiquette with Whaea Monika.

We are leaning to not start fire wars. We know not to use capitals because it looks like you are yelling.

We also need to use kind words.

This is my message.

Rat and octopus

My group have been reading a tale from Samoa, called Rat and Octopus. All of the characters ‘ names were rat, octopus, snail, and pigeon.

Rat and her friends made a plan to try to get to the bigger island, then Rat, snail, and pigeon made a raft out of coconut branches. They made it halfway there, but then the raft started to sink. The pigeon flew away. Snail said to the rat that he would go down with the raft, but rat could not fly and could not live underwater.

My maths journal Chapter 3

This week, my class and I finished chapter three of Maths No Problem. We needed to explain what we noticed in a word problem to show what we learned. We had to buddy up. Me and my buddy did lots of times tables, we did our 8,6,4,3,0 to try, and solve the time tables. The first answer we got was 48 because we did 8×6=48, and that’s how me my buddy and I got 48 as our first answer. Then me and my whole class went on to the floor, then my teacher explained it. When she finished, she gave us a paper. My class and I had to try to solve it, and then we went off to do it all. It was our 8 time tables, and then we were finished.

Nelly and Kahurangi

This week, my group and I have been reading a book about Waitangi and birds. First, we had to do slides about the birds, then I moved on to reading the book about Nelly and Kahurangi. I then went to go and read it to see if I messed up, but I did not. All of the stuff was good to know more about Kahurangi. Next was about Nelly, it was good to know some more things about Nelly. When I first read, I learn that Nelly flew all the way from Alaska to NZ. There was also a video.
